What is PBX?

PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange. As this name suggests it is a private telephone network used within a branch or enterprise. Users of the PBX share outside lines for making calls external to the branch. It is less expensive than connecting an external line to every telephone, and calls within the organization are made easier with a three or four digit code.
